Getting Started with Balanced Rhythm Natural Health:
Step 1: Explore Our Programs
Review our physician-designed programs to find the option that best aligns with your health goals, concerns, and desired level of support.
Step 2: Choose Your Path
Option A: Enroll Directly
If you are ready to begin, you may purchase your program directly through our website.
Option B: Schedule an Initial Consultation
We understand that many individuals prefer to meet with their provider before committing to a comprehensive care program. You are welcome to schedule an Initial Consultation prior to enrollment.
If a program is not selected by the conclusion of your Initial Consultation, the visit will be billed at the applicable standalone consultation rate:
Naturopathic Initial Consultation: $500
Acupuncture Initial Consultation: $200
Peptide Initial Consultation: $250
Following your Initial Consultation, you will have 7 days to decide whether to move forward with a program. If you enroll within that 7-day period, the standalone consultation fee will be credited toward your program investment and deducted from the total program cost.
A promo code will be provided and must be entered at checkout of your decided upon program to ensure the credit is applied.
At the time of enrollment, you may either pay for your program in full or begin an eligible installment plan, if available for your selected program.
Step 3: Complete Your New Patient Paperwork
Once a program is purchased or an Initial Consultation is scheduled, your New Patient Paperwork will become available approximately 5–7 days before your first appointment. You will receive access through both your patient portal and email. Please activate your patient portal as soon as you receive the invitation.
This paperwork must be completed in its entirety and submitted no later than 48 hours before your appointment. While we understand it is lengthy, it plays an important role in helping us understand your health history, prepare for your case, and make the most of your appointment time.
Because our practice provides highly personalized care, we dedicate time to reviewing your records and preparing for your visit in advance. Appointments for which paperwork has not been received by the 48-hour deadline will be canceled and must be rescheduled.
Successful outcomes require active participation from both the patient and provider. Completing your paperwork on time is the first step in that partnership.
Step 4: Patient Scheduling Responsibilities
Balanced Rhythm Natural Health is designed for individuals who are ready to take an active role in their health and healing.
Patients are responsible for scheduling all appointments through our online scheduler and maintaining an active credit card on file, regardless of program payment method (paid in full or installment plan). For your security, Balanced Rhythm Natural Health never has access to your credit card information. All payment information is securely managed and protected by our third-party payment processors.
Elite Members will receive access to extended-hour scheduling instructions within their New Patient Paperwork. These appointment times are available between 7:00–10:00 AM and 5:00–7:00 PM.
You will receive a recommended appointment schedule based on your selected program. It is your responsibility to schedule appointments in a timely manner and remain on track with your program. If you are unable to find availability through the online scheduler, please contact us via text message as soon as possible so we can assist you in maintaining your recommended treatment timeline.
Step 5: Important Office Policies to be Aware of:
Cancellations, Rescheduling, No-Show’s & Late Arrivals:
To ensure appointment availability for all patients, Balanced Rhythm Natural Health maintains a 72-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. Appointments may be modified through our online scheduling platform up to 72 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Changes made within 72 hours of the appointment are subject to a $100 cancellation/rescheduling fee.
Appointments missed without communication are considered no-shows and may be charged at the applicable standalone appointment rate. For patients enrolled in a program, the missed appointment will be forfeited and deducted from the program. Repeated no-shows, late cancellations, or failure to honor scheduled appointments may result in dismissal from the program and practice.
If you arrive late, the missed time will be deducted from your appointment, resulting in a shortened visit and/or treatment. Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late will be required to reschedule their appointment, and the $100 late cancellation/rescheduling fee will apply.
Refunds:
Balanced Rhythm Natural Health operates through structured care programs rather than appointment-by-appointment treatment. Program enrollment represents an investment in a comprehensive care experience, including clinical oversight, treatment planning, provider access, accountability, and a defined period of care.
As such, all program purchases are final and non-refundable.
While programs may include a maximum number of visits, services, or benefits, fees are not based solely on individual appointments or services rendered. Rather, they reflect participation in a structured program designed to support consistency, commitment, and meaningful health outcomes over time.
Unused appointments, missed visits, early withdrawal from care, changes in personal circumstances, relocation, scheduling difficulties, or a decision not to continue treatment do not qualify for a refund, credit, or prorated adjustment.
By enrolling in a program, you acknowledge and agree that you are purchasing access to a comprehensive care program and not individual services on an a la carte basis.
Program Expiration Periods

Step 6: Your Naturopathic Medical Initial Consult:
What to Expect:
Arrival & Check-In
Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to allow for a smooth and relaxed check-in process. Upon arrival, check in using the Viva Med Suites kiosk located in the waiting room and select Balanced Rhythm Natural Health. This will notify Dr. Ellis that you have arrived.Review of Your Health History
We will review your new patient paperwork and clarify any missing or incomplete information. The more thoroughly your forms are completed, the more time we can spend focusing on you, your concerns, and your goals rather than administrative details.Discussion of Your Health Concerns
Your visit will primarily focus on your top three health concerns. Additional concerns will be documented and prioritized for future visits as appropriate.Physical Examination
A general physical examination will be performed, which may include assessment of vital signs, lymph nodes, thyroid gland, heart, lungs, and neurological reflexes. Depending on your concerns and clinical presentation, additional examinations may be recommended, including abdominal, orthopedic, eyes, ears, nose, or throat evaluations.Laboratory & Diagnostic Testing
Routine laboratory testing is commonly ordered through Sonora Quest Laboratories or Quest Diagnostics to establish a comprehensive clinical baseline. If you have completed laboratory testing within the previous 30 days, please bring a PDF copy to your appointment or upload it through your patient portal. Previously completed testing may be utilized when clinically appropriate to avoid unnecessary duplication. Additional specialty testing may also be discussed based on your individual health concerns.Treatment Plan & Recommendations
Within approximately 24–72 hours of your visit, you will receive a personalized treatment plan through your patient portal. Any laboratory or imaging orders, recommendations, and supplement protocols will also be provided at that time. Timing may vary if additional information is needed to complete your case review.Report of Findings Appointment
A Report of Findings appointment should be scheduled approximately 4–5 weeks after your Initial Consultation. During this visit, we will review your laboratory results in detail, discuss findings, and begin implementing your comprehensive care plan.Program Selection
Balanced Rhythm Natural Health is intentionally designed as a program-based practice, not an appointment-by-appointment clinic. Our care model is built around comprehensive programs that provide the time, structure, accountability, and consistency necessary to achieve meaningful, lasting health outcomes. If you are seeking occasional visits, one-time treatment recommendations, or ongoing care without a program commitment, our practice may not be the best fit for your needs.
For those who wish to review their laboratory findings and personalized recommendations before making a final decision, the Report of Findings appointment serves as the final opportunity to enroll in a program and continue care within the practice. Program enrollment must be completed by the conclusion of the Report of Findings appointment if ongoing care is desired.
Patients who are ready to begin may secure their program directly through our website prior to their Initial Consultation using either a full program investment or an eligible installment arrangement.
Step 7: Acupuncture Care:
What to Expect:
Acupuncture as a Foundation for Healing
Acupuncture is one of our favorite tools for helping patients achieve meaningful, lasting health improvements. In our experience, patients who fully embrace a structured series of acupuncture treatments often require fewer additional interventions to reach their goals, improve symptoms, and maintain results over time. For this reason, acupuncture is incorporated into many of our comprehensive care programs.Arrival & Check-In
Please arrive 5–10 minutes early to allow for a smooth and relaxed check-in process.
Thoroughly completed forms allow us to spend more time focusing on your health concerns, goals, and treatment strategy.Discussion of Your Health Concerns
Your visit will primarily focus on your top three health concerns. Additional concerns will be documented and prioritized for future visits as appropriate.Constitutional Assessment
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) recognizes that individuals with similar symptoms may have very different underlying patterns of dysfunction. To identify your unique constitutional pattern, we will ask a series of detailed questions that may seem unrelated to your primary concern. These questions help us determine which organ systems, meridians, and physiological patterns are contributing to your symptoms and guide the development of your treatment plan.Tongue & Pulse Examination
Examination of the tongue and pulses is a cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis. The appearance of the tongue and the quality of the pulses provide valuable information about circulation, organ function, fluid balance, inflammation, and overall constitutional health. These findings help confirm and refine your individualized treatment strategy.Acupuncture Treatment
Acupuncture points will be selected based on your individual presentation and treatment goals. You may feel a brief sensation as the needles are inserted; however, any discomfort typically resolves within a few seconds. If a needle feels sharp, burning, pulsing, or uncomfortable, simply let your practitioner know so it can be adjusted. While we cannot guarantee a completely sensation-free experience, acupuncture should be comfortable and relaxing once needle placement is complete.Rest & Relaxation
Following needle placement, you will rest comfortably for approximately 30 minutes. Traditional Chinese Medicine recognizes this period as an important component of treatment, allowing the body time to respond and regulate. Arriving on time helps ensure you receive the full therapeutic benefit of the recommended needle retention period.Additional Therapies
Depending on your needs, additional therapies may be incorporated into your treatment plan, particularly for pain, injury recovery, and musculoskeletal concerns. These may include: Cupping, Gua Sha, Tui Na, Electrical Stimulation, Infrared Light Therapy, and/or Structural Manipulation Techniques. These therapies are utilized at the discretion of the provider and may occasionally require a slightly shorter needle retention time. The Importance of Consistency
Acupuncture is cumulative in nature. Each treatment builds upon the previous one, often producing deeper and longer-lasting results over time. This is one of the primary reasons our practice utilizes structured acupuncture programs rather than isolated treatments. Consistency allows us to maximize therapeutic outcomes and create meaningful, lasting change.Long-Term Maintenance
After completing an initial course of care, many patients find they are able to maintain their results with occasional maintenance treatments. Depending on the condition being addressed, a visit every 4–6 weeks is commonly sufficient to support ongoing wellness, prevention, recovery, and longevity goals. Our Acupuncture RESTORE is designed exactly for this purpose.
Step 8: WestWorld of Scottsdale Equestrian Competitors:
Supporting the Equestrian Community
Equestrian health and performance are a cornerstone of our practice. We understand the unique physical, mental, and logistical demands of competition and are proud to support riders while they are pursuing their goals in and out of the arena.
While Balanced Rhythm Natural Health typically operates through structured care programs, WestWorld of Scottsdale competitors are exempt from our program requirement. We are pleased to offer standalone services for riders who are in town temporarily for training, showing, or competition and are seeking support to optimize performance, recovery, resilience, and overall well-being.
Available standalone services for competitors include:
